| An Open Letter to the Community The RoVic Position on MRSA RoVic welcomes the renewed publicity regarding the “killer disease”, MRSA. For more than three years, the RoVic team has attempted to educate our customers and the public at large of the danger to the community that the emerging family of antibiotic resistant diseases represents. The hazardous diseases we track include not only MRSA, but also VRSA, VRE, and a new strain of antibiotic resistant Streptococcus Pneumonie. These diseases are particularly violent ones that spread readily in the absence of proper precautions. Those safety measures begin with proper hand washing and skin care procedures. Proper skin hygiene is the first and best line of defense in combating the diseases. In addition, precise cleaning procedures employing specific products, most notably EPA registered products that contain MRSA kill claims are essential in maintaining the desired germ free environment. The pages that follow include an overview of MRSA, its magnitude, and basic procedures for both cleaning and hand hygiene. The recommendations are culled from the leaders in medical hygiene, the Mayo Clinic and the Center for Disease Control (CDC). They can help your organization in making critical decisions as you move forward. RoVic personnel are expert in implementing the suggestions in the CDC’s position papers. Our Green and Clean philosophy states that human health is our foremost concern. For that reason, we place a particular emphasis on assisting in the creation of processes that insure the highest levels of health. If we can help your concern in designing MRSA management tools, please don’t hesitate in contacting us. Yours in Health, Click here to download this letter |
